The Handel Company suggests quarterly on-site visits to service employees’ safety glasses needs.
The Handel Company is affiliated with 36 local Dispensers who have been contracted to service safety eyewear needs for employees who can’t avail themselves of the on site services. A list of Dispensers will be posted and is available through the program administrator at each company. These Dispensers have been carefully selected to insure that whatever your employees’ safety eyewear needs might be, they’ll be handled in a courteous and professional manner. Through these Dispensers safety eyewear may be ordered, repaired and adjusted. There’s never a charge for services rendered. If, however, your company will be paying for a new pair of safety eyewear or a frame repair, you do need to see program administrator for an authorization form.
All affiliated Dispensers are pleased to allow a $10.00 employee discount off their normal exam fee. A 20% discount is also available to employees and their families for dress eyewear. (Discount cannot be used with vision insurance).
The Handel Company believes the “corner store”, old-fashioned concept of providing the best of everything for the customer has lost its meaning. Now, it’s back! An updated frame selection, faster delivery and the foremost quality of product are just a few of the benefits. We believe safety glasses are just as important, if not more so, than any tool. Safety and precision are critical in meeting your goals. We believe employees need to be better informed about the best safety eyewear to help meet these goals. To achieve your goals, we recommend a combination on-site program coordinated with our dispenser program. The Handel Company representatives are able to perform the following services on site:
EDUCATION & TRAINING
We suggest that all employees attend a 15-20 minute educational/training session that includes an explanation of why safety glasses are safer than dress eyewear, and the specifics of your particular program.
All employees can be vision screened to check visual acuity. This is not an eye examination. It indicates if an eye examination is presently needed.
FITTING ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES
Eligible employees will have a choice of 40 + frame styles from which to choose. Eligibility usually includes employees who haven’t had a pair of prescription safety glasses for two years, employees whose safety glasses are so damaged or ill-fitting to constitute a hazard or those employees who will be getting a new eye examination. A vision analysis of each employee will be performed to insure he/she receives safety eyewear that is comfortable and conducive to his/her job.
For employees who pass the vision screening, prescriptions will be obtained as follows:
• From a prescription brought in by the employee.
• By calling the employee’s eye doctor or where their dress eyewear was purchased.
For employees who fail the vision screening and will be getting an eye examination, frame selection will be made at this time, the vision analysis performed and the employee measured. When the employee has his/her eye examination, a copy should be given to the program adminstrator which will emal/fax that information to The Handel Company. This is the missing ingredient needed to make the safety glasses.
DISPENSING NEW RX SAFETY GLASSES
Completed safety glasses will be dispensed and adjusted to each employee.
